Equality, Empowerment,
and Transformation
Equality
Equal employment opportunities are important to us. To create real value for our employees and the country, Barloworld is committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the demographics of our operational environment.
Equality Values
Our values of equality are addressed in our
Code of Ethics,
Worldwide Code of Conduct and other related
policies.
They include: - Identifying and eliminating employment barriers
- Pursuing programmes and initiatives that meet our equality goals
- Eliminating unfair discrimination on the grounds of gender, race, religion, disability and sexual preference
- Complying with the regulations and legislations of the relevant countries
A key focus in our
value-based management approach is gender equality. We regard it as a human right, believing that men and women have equal value and should be treated completely equally.
Black Economic Empowerment
Barloworld’s South African divisions comply with the Department of Trade and Industry’s
Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (DTI B-BBEE) requirements. We are proud to have achieved and maintained a DTI B-BBEE level two in our four core business units. Our current business strategy now aims to achieve level three.
